Kiwi release

A Kiwi chiclk was released

Playing in the puddles

 It had rained for days and there was huge puddles all over our field.  We had so much fun playing in the puddles and sliding in the mud.  Afterwards we wrote some fantastic poems and stories about our experience.

Kiwi Calls

Today we learnt what call a male and a female kiwi make.  We learnt that a male kiwi makes a high pitched noise and the female make a noise like they have a sore throat.

Term 2

Welcome back from the holiday I hope everyone had a great break.  Yesterday we watched the royal wedding.  The children wrote great stories about the wedding and loved watching the funny dance.

The white horses were beautiful.
The horses had some jewels on them.
The prince was handsome.

Rainforest



Today Jo came to school we learnt about the rainforest. We saw pictures of tocans and poisonous frogs. We also learnt about the python did you know they can wrap around you and squeeze you to death they can also swallow you whole.

White Pine Bush


All the juniors went for a walk around White Pine Bush.  We arelearning about what New Zealand bush.  It was a really interesting walk and I am sure everyone learnt something.  the children came back buzzing talking about the tall nikau palms, the silver fern the epiphites the fungus on the tree.  Some children thought the dead possum was the most interesting thing they saw.
